The seventh game of the season between the KT Wiz and the KIA Tigers of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at KT Wiz Park in Suwon on the 9th was sold out. According to home team KT, all 18,700 seats were sold by 5:50pm, 50 minutes after kickoff.
At Suwon KT Wiz Park, rain clouds rolled in and heavy rain poured down until around 3pm. The blinding downpour quickly turned the field into a sea of water, but about 30 minutes later, the rain stopped and the sun came out. Many baseball fans came to the stadium to watch the final game of the three-game weekend series. It was KT’s fourth sellout of the season, following the first against LG Electronics on 1 April, Lotte on 13 May, and KIA on 8 July.
KT was looking to end a three-game losing streak, while KIA was looking for its fifth straight win. At the end of the fourth inning, KIA led 2-0.
