77 players participated in the final round of Asian Tour Q School, and the top 35 players were seeded. There were 7 Korean players in total.
Yoon Sang-pil was unable to achieve remarkable results on the Korean Tour of the Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA) last year. He participated in 17 tournaments and passed the cut 9 times, and his best result was a tie for 8th at the Honors K Solar and CC One Piece Invitational, but this tournament was the only one in the top 10.
Cho Min-gyu, who left a regret by finishing runner-up three times on the Korean Tour last year, also succeeded in securing a seed. He passed this Q School in 7th place.
Jeong Han-mil secured the seed in 8th place, behind Yoon Sang-pil and Cho Min-gyu. In the second half of the year, Jeong Han-mil, who was on a good course by placing in the top 10 three times in nine competitions, showed off her momentum in the Asian Tour Q School.
Kim Min-hwi (31) also secured a seed for the Asian Tour. Kim Min-hwi finished 10th with a 13-under par of 342 strokes. Kim Min-hwi, who played on the American Professional Golf (PGA) Tour, tried to re-seed on the PGA Tour last year at the Korn Ferry Tour, but failed. Attention is focusing on whether Kim Min-hwi, who changed his route to the Asian Tour, will be able to re-enter the PGA Tour.
Eom Jae-woong (33) and Lee Seung-taek (28) were also listed. Bae Yong-joon (23), who won the Korean Tour Rookie of the Year by winning the Hanjangsang Invitational last year, also climbed to 31st place and was seeded.
Thanks to the size of the Asian Tour in partnership with LIV Golf, popularity among Korean players has increased. There are quite a few players who have made plans to run both the Korean and Asian tours. 42 people participated in this final preliminary round, but only 7 people were happy.
The 2023 Asian Tour kicks off with PIF Saudi International at the Royal Greens Golf and Country Club in Saudi Arabia.
