Chelsea has signed manager Mauricio Pochettino (51, Argentina).

“Chelsea have agreed a deal with Pochettino for a new manager,” the British newspaper The Telegraph said on Monday (April 29), adding that an official announcement will be made in the next two days.

Chelsea have had a terrible time this season, finishing in 12th place. After sacking managers Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter for poor performances, the club handed the reins to Frank Lampard for the remainder of the season. Without the right man at the helm, Chelsea has faltered heading into the final stretch.

The Blues have been scrambling to find a new manager and have now finalized their decision. They chose Pochettino, who knows the Premier League from his time at Southampton and Tottenham, and who managed world-class stars at Paris Saint-Germain. Pochettino has guided Tottenham to the Premier League’s top six and a UEFA Champions League runner-up finish in 2018-19. 메이저사이트

Chelsea reportedly had a verbal agreement with Pochettino more than a month ago. After waiting until the end of the season, Chelsea managed to sign him before the final game of the season against Newcastle United.

Fabrizio Romano, a journalist familiar with the European transfer market, tweeted, “Pochettino finally becomes Chelsea’s new manager. He has officially signed the contract and will start as Chelsea manager next week.”

Chelsea and Pochettino have agreed to a three-year contract. Pochettino has a lot of work to do to improve the Blues, who have had one of the worst seasons in recent memory.
